Christmas is my favorite season of the year. The message of hope with the birth of Christ, the diverse holiday celebrations of other cultures, families coming together, the uplifting songs, the cheesy movies, it all makes me feel warm and cozy on the inside!
During this time of year, I look out for shows to attend with the family, from singing ensembles to circus acts and all in between. December into January is filled with so many entertaining groups touring the US. Here are some of my recommendations:
THE NUTCRACKER
No matter where you live, you cannot escape the Nutcracker. Every city with a ballet company will be performing the Nutcracker at some point in December. I'm excited to see the ballet live for the first time this year. If the big city show is too expensive, try searching up ballet companies in cities near you. A cheaper option will be around the corner.
'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE
‘Twas the Night Before… is Cirque du Soleil's first holiday show, based on the poem “A Visit from Saint Nicolas”. A festive flurry of love and cheer created especially for families, ‘Twas the Night Before… features thrilling acrobatics, lovable characters - and a soundtrack including holiday classics re-invented by Cirque du Soleil.
